How it all started...
Our story began in 1951. A group of Christians led by Pastor Wayne Wilcox organized as the Bethel Baptist Church. A few years later the church purchased property at 201 Grant and renamed themselves The First Southern Baptist Church of Roseville. In 1964, the church moved to our current location at 1301 Coloma Way, and in 2015, the church decided to be known as Roseville Baptist Church.
While our name may have changed over the years, our core mission of desiring to create a community in Christ and engage our community with the gospel of Christ has never waivered. We believe Jesus and the Bible are the answers to every question that may arise in our lives.
Unfortunately, the major flood that happened in the Sacramento region in the mid-1990s prevents us from being able to expand or renovate on the current Coloma Way campus, and we are outgrowing the space in a variety of ways. We are prayerfully sacrificing to raise money and patiently waiting for God to open the door for the next physical location of RBC for the future.
