Our Story

How it all started...

Our story began in 1951. A group of Christians led by pastor Wayne Wilcox organized as the Bethel Baptist Church. A few years later the church purchased property at 201 Grant and High and renamed themselves The First Southern Baptist Church of Roseville. In 1964 the church moved to our current location at 1301 Coloma Way, and in 2015, the church decided to be known as Roseville Baptist Church.

While our name may have changed over the years, our core mission of desiring to create a community in Christ and engage our community with the gospel of Christ has never waivered. We believe Jesus and the Bible are the answers to every question that may arise in our lives.

THe time of Covid

While Covid-19 has changed so much about the world around us, we are committed to safely gathering and ministering to our world during these difficult times. We offer both in-person gatherings as well as broadcasting the gatherings online for those who are unable to attend due to health concerns (or perhaps you are taking a vacation or are travelling for work and still want to connect with your church family!).

If you are struggling right now, please reach out to us, and we will try to help you however we can. Many are lonely and simply need a friend or someone to talk to, our pastor is available for counseling and to help you understand what the next right step is in your life.

Where we are headed...

We want everyone who is part of Roseville Baptist Church to continue to grow in their understanding of the Bible and their personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This passionate determination to impact the lives of others with the transforming power of the gospel will be the foundation of every event, gathering, small group, and project that we undertake to make a difference in our community.

During 2021, we are diving into our local community even more by hosting an event designed for people to bring their questions about religion, the Bible, and Jesus, so they can find the answers their souls are looking for. In addition to various on-campus projects, we are hopeful to join with our city for various service projects (as soon as they reinstitute these projects based on Covid restrictions).

Join with us for personal growth as well as using your gifts and talents to make an impact in the lives of others!
